    The Alpine 92 Jersey

In 1992, Grand Puba appeared on an episode of Yo! MTV Raps with Mary J. Blige to perform “What’s the 411?”. Puba was dressed in a white Fila visor, a pair of Nike Revaderchi sneakers, and a colour-blocked Polo Ralph Lauren Alpine rugby shirt, tucked into the belt loops of his Girbaud denim shorts. At the time, these were the hottest brands in hip-hop.

Mary J. Blige built that record on a sample — an early-eighties Debra Laws track called “Very Special”. We’ve done the same thing with a jersey: taken a moment from before our time, when the rugby shirt transcended the sport, and made it ours.

We haven’t reproduced that shirt. We’ve taken the colour blocking and built it in our own colours.

Inspired by a moment in hip-hop history. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Ralph Lauren.

    Fit

Traditional standard fit. If you’re between sizes, size up.

    Size Chest
    S 34–36in
    M 38–40in
    L 42–44in
    XL 46–48in
    2XL 50–52in
    3XL 54–56in

Pit-to-pit is roughly half the higher chest measurement (e.g. a Large = ~22in pit to pit).

Alpine 92 is the first in our colour blocked series. The second, TH94, follows the Tommy Hilfiger rugby Snoop Dogg wore on Saturday Night Live in 1994.
